Analysts said Bitcoin’s recovery depends on a successful US-Iran peace deal after BTC reclaimed $67,000. Nick Ruck said declining volume and stagnant on-chain metrics show weak momentum. Swissblock said Bitcoin price momentum and OBV remain in a weak momentum and participation regime. Bitcoin fell below $66,000 in early trading on Tuesday.

SoSoValue data shows Strategy spent approximately $100 million last week to purchase 1,587 Bitcoins. Global listed companies, excluding mining companies, recorded $100 million in net weekly Bitcoin purchases. Metaplanet did not purchase Bitcoin last week. No other listed companies purchased Bitcoin.

The Bank of Japan raised rates by 25 bps, lifting the target for the uncollateralized overnight call rate to around 1.0%. The Policy Board voted 7–1 on June 16. The new rate is effective June 17.

Kraken launched CFTC-regulated perpetual futures trading for eligible US customers, bringing access to a market that exceeded $60 trillion last year onto Kraken Pro. Eligible American clients can access the offering alongside spot, margin and CME-listed futures. The launch includes major digital assets such as BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, LINK, DOGE, LTC and AVAX.

The U.S. military said its blockade of Iranian ports will remain in effect ahead of a June 19 agreement deadline. The military warned vessels in the affected area not to attempt passage through the blockade zone. Vessels must wait until they receive explicit guidance.

Gas prices are heading under $4 a gallon after the US and Iran agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The national average fell from $4.56 to $4.12 since May 21 as crude oil settled below $100 a barrel. Brent crude fell 5% to $83.13 on Monday, June 15. The US Strategic Petroleum Reserve has fallen to its lowest level since 1983.

The BSP issued new VASP listing guidelines that ban privacy coins from local platforms. The rules remove assets such as Monero and Zcash from compliant exchanges in the country. Platforms must set suspension or delisting thresholds for every listed asset.
